Agent-based Housing Market Microsimulation for Integrated Land Use, Transportation, Environment Model System

چکیده
The Housing Market Evolutionary System (HoMES) is the updated housing market module for the Integrated Land Use, Transportation, Environment (ILUTE) model system. HoMES is a disaggregate, agent-based microsimulation of the owner, location choices and valuations, the endogenous supply of housing by type and location, and the endogenous determination of sale prices and rents. The new model offers significant improvements over previous attempts by including a reformulated market clearing mechanism, market dependency on macro-economic conditions, and improved computational performance. A 100% synthesized population is validated against historical data for the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd. Microsimulating urban systems
This paper presents a status report concerning on-going research and development work by a team of Canadian researchers to develop a microsimulation, agent-based, integrated model of urban land use and transportation. It describes in some detail the overall design and current status of the ILUTE (Integrated Land Use, Transportation, Environment) modelling system under development. The overall p...
متن کاملApplying the Land Use-Transportation Integrated Model, Using the Most Effective Sustainable Urban Variables Case study: part of the district 22 of city of Tehran
Land use planning is the main core of urban planning and one of the main components of an urban system. This element has close relation with transportation system of the city, so if their interaction becomes insufficient, deterioration and chaos would have an adverse impact on the urban system and would cause serious environmental issues. The integrated land use-transportation models seem to b...
متن کاملCity Land Use and Rent Dynamics with Location Externalities and Zoning Regulations
Researchers embracing agent-based microsimulation models often criticize the inability of urban equilibrium models to reflect spatial heterogeneity and transitional dynamics. These limitations are major barriers for land use and transportation planners who may wish to apply urban economic models in regular planning processes. To this end, this paper extends Anas’ spatial computable general equi...
متن کاملA Real-Option Based Dynamic Model to Simulate Real Estate Developer Behavior
Real estate developers are facing a dynamic and volatile market when making their investment decisions. In this study, a real option-based adaptive formulation is adopted so as to incorporate market uncertainties in simulating developer behaviors such as when, where, what type, and how much built space to build within an agent based, integrated land use and transportation simulation framework. ...
متن کاملA behavioral simulation model for metropolitan policy analysis and planning: residential location and housing market components of UrbanSim
The growing demand for better coordination of metropolitan land use and transportation planning has led to the need for new analytical tools to examine the potential impacts of land-use and transportation policies and investments. In this paper I report on the residential and market-clearing components of the recently developed UrbanSim land-use model, which is currently being implemented in Ha...
